Melissa Rubin, PMHNP-BC, ARNP, CNM, PMH-C
(She/Her)
I am proud to be a board certified Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with a Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of Washington. During my doctoral training, I pursued a subspeciality in Perinatal Mental Health and earned certification through University of Washington, as well as separate certification as a Perinatal Mental Health specialist through Postpartum Support International.
My clinical practice is shaped by my twenty years of experience as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM), serving a diverse range of clients from across the greater Seattle area and surrounding communities. I am committed to providing holistic, person-centered care, that prioritizes the individual over algorithms. I take pride in spending meaningful time with clients – partnering with them, reviewing education and sharing resources to support their mental health and general well-being. I am also deeply committed to serving queer and diverse communities, ensuring care that is affirming, inclusive, and responsive to each person’s unique experience.
Beyond my clinical work, I serve as a guest lecturer at local universities, Perinatal Support Washington, and other professional learning environments. I also precept graduate nursing students with a focus in perinatal and reproductive psychiatry. As founder of Reproductive Resilience, I bring entrepreneurial leadership to innovative models of care and through my practice, offer mentorship to new clinicians in the community, fostering the next generation of compassionate, skilled providers.
Outside of my professional roles, I find joy in exploring the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest, connecting with my local community, and spending time with my family. These personal experiences continually remind me of the importance of resilience, balance, and compassion—values I strive to bring into every aspect of my practice.
